Vidal and I had had a ponder on this, and we arrived simply at "200X" - one of those cop-out, non-existant numbers which simply denotes any time slightly beyond 2000 - for no reason other than 1999 and 2000 always sounded way-out, futuristic and cool back when folks were spinning such raypunk tales of Martian expedition.
If truth be told, it's all probably subject to individual timeframe anyway. Extropia is a land born from 1940s dreams of the year 2000, has been physically constructed later than that, in 2007. It promotes technologies even the most realistic of which are probably out of our reach for a good hundred years yet. All that and we cater to temporal and dimension tourists, each with their own narrative time references..?
... the time is now. The future is yet to come. There we go. :)
